Acceptance of Terms
Booking itself implies acceptance of all Terms and Conditions and is open to cancellation anytime within 30 minutes from the time of booking. Unless otherwise specified, the terms You, Customer, Shipper, Consignor, and Client include persons who send consignments, documents, parcels, or cargo for delivery to the address mentioned on the consignment. The consignee or beneficiary of the service is not included unless they are the person who hires or avails the service.
The Courier
Unless otherwise specified, the terms Us, Our, Transporter, and Courier mean and include The Professional Couriers, its branch offices, agents, administrative personnel, representatives, franchisees, employees, and related service personnel.
Packing & Insurance
Customers must ensure damage-proof and tamper-proof packing for consignments and parcels. Parcels must be packed properly and each parcel weight must not exceed 20 kilos. Consignments are to be insured by the customers only.
Delivery
South India delivery will be after 48 working hours and the rest of India delivery will be after 72 working hours from the expiry of the booking date. Sincere efforts will be taken to ensure proper delivery. Delivery will not be effected on Sundays, government holidays, local holidays, strikes, lockouts, or after office hours.
Delivery Address
Consignments booked will be delivered only to the address mentioned in the consignment. The correctness of the address or alternate address will not be enquired into even if contact numbers are mentioned. Consignments may be delivered to an alternate address only when provided in writing by the consignor and only if intimated in time. Door delivery cannot be made to places where entry is restricted, limited, or requires prior appointment.
Standing Instructions
Any standing instruction or direction apart from regular booking or delivery procedures must be provided in writing well in advance. WhatsApp, SMS, or email sent to branch, department, office mobile numbers, or staff personal or official mobile numbers will not be deemed proper communication of required information.
Billing
GST as applicable and other statutory levies will be charged on supplies according to relevant laws and shall be payable by the customer. Bills and statements will be provided electronically through email and no physical copies will be provided.
Complaints / Communication
Complaints regarding non-delivery, deficiency in service, or updates must be raised within reasonable time and lodged at our Head Office in writing within ten days from the date of booking to facilitate quick tracking. Otherwise, the consignment shall be deemed to be booked and delivered in good condition and order. Written correspondence must be sent to The Professional Couriers, Customer Care Cell, 128-A, Siddhar Koil Main Road, Kandhampatty By-Pass, Salem - 636 005. Compensation
Consignments consigned to a single consignee on a single day booking in a single consignment worth above Rs. 5000 shall be considered valuable consignments. For loss of consignments containing bank instruments, compensation will be limited to reasonable expenses incurred in reconstructing the instrument. For other articles, compensation will be made only on submitting legally valid, tenable, and sufficient proof.
Restricted Compensation
Requests for compensation for loss of cash, jewellery, credit or ATM cards, passport, glass items, valuables, edibles, time-sensitive items, flammables, original documents, storage-sensitive items, or legally prohibited items will not be entertained on any grounds. In all other cases, courier legal liability is limited to Rs. 100 only. Compensation for loss of profit or future prospects will not be entertained.
Indemnity and Lien
The consignor accepts to indemnify The Professional Couriers for all losses and costs arising from circumstances that lead to damage, destruction, deterioration, or loss of utility to any article in the possession or ownership of The Professional Couriers, Salem. The Professional Couriers, Salem shall exercise a right of lien over consignments against any outstanding dues by the customer, consignor, or shipper.
Returned Consignments and Damage Assessment
The Professional Couriers reserves the right to claim storage cost and other expenses incurred for safeguarding consignments that are returned and held at our office, agents, or counterparts premises. Compensation in full for damages shall be granted only after the subject consignment is handed over to The Professional Couriers, Salem. Compensation to rectify damage shall be granted only after The Professional Couriers, Salem is reasonably given an opportunity to assess the damage.
Responsibility for Address of Consignee
The Professional Couriers, Salem shall not be responsible for loss, delay, damage, destruction, deterioration, loss of utility, or reduction in utility of any consignment that bears an incomplete address, wrong address, or wrong phone number. It shall also not be responsible for any monetary or non-monetary consequence arising from delivery to such wrong address on the consignment.
Formalities
A declaration copy for parcels must be furnished with sufficient proof, including a copy of bills and a letter regarding the contents of the consignment, as part of tax formalities. Failure to furnish sufficient proof or comply with legal formalities may lead to abnormal delay or seizure of consignments by tax authorities, for which the company will not be liable.
Force Majeure
We are not responsible for loss, damage, or delay to consignments caused by abnormal weather conditions, mechanical delays, war, strikes, civil commotion, riots, or similar events beyond our control.
Miscellaneous
Customers are requested to inform us in writing regarding any change in the address where we render pickup facility.
Jurisdiction
All disputes, claims, differences, or proceedings arising out of or relating to booking, transportation, delivery or non-delivery of any consignment, these Terms and Conditions, or the services provided by The Professional Couriers, Salem, shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts at Salem, Tamil Nadu, India, to the exclusion of all other courts having concurrent jurisdiction, except where any law provides otherwise.
Privacy
The customer authorises The Professional Couriers, Salem to collect, store, process, and use information including names, addresses, contact numbers, email addresses, GST details, proof of identity, shipment details, and other information furnished by the customer solely for courier services, legal compliance, record maintenance, customer support, internal use, billing, and regulatory compliance.
Right to Inspect Consignments
The Professional Couriers, Salem reserves the right, without prior notice, to inspect, examine, scan, X-ray, or open any consignment whenever required for security, safety, customs, taxation, regulatory compliance, or where the company reasonably suspects that the contents may violate applicable law or these Terms and Conditions. The company may refuse transportation if the customer declines inspection. Inspection shall not amount to acceptance of liability regarding the nature, quality, or legality of the contents.
Non-Waiver
Failure by The Professional Couriers, Salem to enforce any provision of these Terms and Conditions on any occasion shall not constitute a waiver of its right to enforce the same provision or any other provision at any subsequent time.
Severability
If any provision of these Terms and Conditions is held to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable by any competent court or authority, such provision shall be deemed severed to the extent of such invalidity and the remaining provisions shall continue to remain in full force and effect.

North region states covered: Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Chandigarh, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh. West region states covered: Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Goa, Daman & Diu, Andaman & Nicobar Islands. East region states covered: Bihar, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Meghalaya, Assam, West Bengal, Jharkhand, Odisha, and Chhattisgarh.
